Ruben Amorim has responded to Roy Keane, asserting that his perspective holds greater weight than the former Manchester United captain’s.
Keane recently launched a strong critique, singling out Bruno Fernandes during a debate with Ian Wright about Manchester United’s underperforming players.

Keane, along with Wright, Gary Neville, and Jill Scott, discussed United’s recent performance before their 3-2 victory over Ipswich on Wednesday.
Keane expressed his frustration in a passionate monologue, criticizing United’s current squad, who are currently 14th in the Premier League.
Keane criticized Fernandes, stating that the captain’s “talent is not enough” and disapproved of his celebration after scoring a free-kick in United’s 2-2 draw with Everton.
However, Wright strongly disagreed, believing United would be in a relegation battle without the Portuguese midfielder.
Amorim has now responded to Keane, saying that the opinion of the United manager is the only one that truly matters.
Amorim stated: “I heard about that, and I have a different opinion.”
“Bruno is very important for us at the club, especially for me. He is performing well under challenging circumstances and always seeks responsibility.”
“I know sometimes, as captain, he gestures and criticizes teammates, but it stems from frustration this year and last year.”
“Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Roy Keane has high standards for himself and his teams, so it’s normal for him to have an opinion.”
“I hold a different view, and I believe my opinion is more significant than Roy Keane’s because I am the coach.”
Fernandes is Manchester United’s top scorer this season with ten goals and has started in almost every game for the team.
Amorim believes that Fernandes’ only flaw is his visible frustration.
Amorim, aged 40, added: “He wants to win, and sometimes it’s hard to manage that frustration.”
During the Stick To Football podcast, presented by Sky Bet, Keane passionately said: “Looking at recruitment and the team.
“Show some fight, some pace, some quality in your play.
“They draw at Everton, and it’s like they’ve won a trophy. It’s unbelievable.
“Even the fans. I see fans at games singing for Bruno [Fernandes]. These players, I think they’re imposters.”
Wright interjected: “No, not Bruno.”
Keane retorted: “You know what Wrighty? I’m tired of this nonsense.”

Wright continued to argue that Fernandes has the talent to “save” United from their poor form.
Keane responded incredulously: “They are 15th in the league. And he’s saving them?! Praise the Lord.”
Bruno was named man of the match against Ipswich, contributing to all three goals at Old Trafford.
However, Fernandes’s captaincy has faced criticism in recent times.
His perceived irritability and dramatic reactions on the field have been cited as reasons why he might not be the ideal leader.
Fernandes and Amad Diallo are currently United’s joint top scorers in the Premier League, each with six goals.
Since joining in January 2020, only Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne has created more scoring opportunities than Fernandes.
De Bruyne has provided 109 chances, while Fernandes is close behind with 100.
