Arsenal Fans Cheer as Aaron Ramsey Taunts Stoke Crowd 15 Years Post-Injury

Arsenal supporters were thrilled to see former player Aaron Ramsey, now 34, provoke Stoke City fans following Cardiff’s FA Cup victory. The incident came 15 years after Ramsey suffered a horrific leg break while playing for Arsenal against Stoke.

In 2010, a tackle from Ryan Shawcross resulted in Ramsey fracturing both his tibia and fibula at just 19 years old. The injury sidelined him for nine months. Since then, Stoke fans have consistently booed Ramsey whenever he returned to play at their stadium.

This past weekend, Ramsey faced the same hostile reception as his Cardiff team visited Stoke for an FA Cup match. However, Ramsey had the last laugh as Cardiff drew 3-3 and advanced via a penalty shootout. After the final whistle, Ramsey celebrated pointedly towards the Stoke supporters who had jeered him throughout the game.

Arsenal fans delighted in Ramsey’s actions, with many praising him on social media. One supporter commented “Good on you Rambo,” while another said “Love this for him.” Others called him “What a guy” and expressed joy at seeing him “give it to them.”

Cardiff manager Omer Riza condemned the Stoke fans’ behavior, stating he was “surprised and disappointed” by the booing directed at Ramsey. However, he expressed confidence in Ramsey’s ability to handle such treatment, noting “He’s got a character big enough to deal with it” and suggesting the booing would only motivate Ramsey to perform better.
