Bayern responded late in the game when substitute Thomas Müller, left unmarked, equalized. However, Inter quickly regained the lead. Carlos Augusto set up Davide Frattesi, who scored the decisive goal.
This defeat marks Bayern Munich`s first home loss in the Champions League in four years.
