Brighton Rejects Massive £75 Million Bid for Kaoru Mitoma from Al-Nassr
Brighton & Hove Albion have firmly rejected a staggering £75 million offer from Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr for their star winger Kaoru Mitoma. The Saudi side initially bid £54 million before increasing their offer to £75 million, but Brighton stood firm in their stance that the 27-year-old Japanese international is not for sale.
Mitoma, who joined Brighton in 2021 for just £2.7 million from Kawasaki Frontale, has become a key player for the Premier League club. He has made 92 appearances so far, scoring 5 goals and providing 3 assists in 23 league games this season. The winger is known for his exceptional dribbling skills, having written a university thesis on the subject.
Despite the enormous bid, Mitoma is reportedly not interested in leaving Europe at this stage of his career. Brighton have made it clear they have no intention of selling one of their prized assets mid-season.
Al-Nassr, who currently have Cristiano Ronaldo on their books, are pursuing other Premier League targets as well. They appear close to signing Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran for £65 million and have shown interest in Manchester City midfielder Mateo Kovacic, though that deal may prove difficult to complete.
Brighton have been active in the transfer market themselves, recently signing Paraguay international Diego Gomez from Inter Miami. The club made several high-profile signings last summer and are determined to keep their talented squad intact as they compete on multiple fronts this season.
