Chelsea Confirms Geovany Quenda and Dario Essugo Signings: Transfer Fees Revealed

Meanwhile, Essugo will cost £18.7m

This announcement method is unusual, as clubs often keep transfer fees “undisclosed”.

The Portuguese club revealed the total value of the double deal to be just under £62.4m (€74.5million).

Breaking down the fees, Chelsea paid over twice as much for Quenda compared to Essugo.

The 17-year-old Quenda, a highly sought-after talent in Europe and previously linked with a reunion with Ruben Amorim at Manchester United, was reported as a surprising move last week.

Chelsea will pay an initial £42.6m for the winger, with potential add-ons of £1.1m.

However, Quenda will not join Chelsea until 2026, as he will remain on loan at Lisbon.

The deal for Essugo, currently on loan at Las Palmas, involved a flat fee of £18.7m (€22.27m) paid by Chelsea.

The defensive midfielder will stay on loan in Spain and will join Chelsea in the summer.

Geovany Quenda's Sporting CP 2024-25 UCL stats: games 10, chances created 12, passes 278, goals 0, assists 1, tackles 7, fouls 3.
Dário Essugo's Las Palmas 2024-25 La Liga stats: games 17, chances created 10, passes 667, goals 1, assists 0, tackles 43, fouls 26.

This means Essugo could debut for Chelsea during the Club World Cup.

The statement also mentioned that fees for intermediation services totaled £3.7m for both players – £2.8m (€3.35m) for Quenda and £838,000 (€999,700) for Essugo.
