Chiwetel Ejiofor Trapped in A24’s Backrooms Horror Film

A24 consistently earns praise for its dedication to producing original and unconventional projects. Following the release of the peculiar horror experience Undertone, the studio is set to continue this trend with its highly anticipated film, Backrooms.

Regarding Backrooms, the film centers on a man who stumbles upon a mysterious door in the basement of a furniture store. This portal leads him into an unusual realm of seemingly endless rooms and corridors. The enigma of ‘why’ is central to the premise, as hints suggest a deeper, sinister mystery at play within these desolate spaces.

The film is directed by Kane Parsons, who originally conceived the Backrooms concept for his YouTube channel before A24 greenlit the project for a feature film adaptation. It stars Chiwetel Ejiofor in the leading role, supported by a cast including Renate Reinsve, Mark Duplass, Finn Bennett, and Lukita Maxwell.

Slated for release on May 29, Backrooms promises a unique and unsettling horror experience.
