Professional Dota 2 player Nikita ‘Daxak’ Kuzmin revealed his ambitions in the esports scene. He shared these goals during an interview on the KD CAST YouTube podcast.
“[Question: What’s your career goal?] It’s similar to many others. Some aim to win The International, while others chase a million dollars. For me, prestige is also crucial, along with earning substantial amounts. I’m not fully content with the return on my career investment so far, considering my efforts and vision. Despite this, I appreciate my journey as it has provided financial stability for years to come, even if my earnings stopped now. However, I aspire to achieve significant victories and earn good money, ideally reaching a million dollars.”
Kuzmin also drew a comparison between the earnings of professional Dota 2 players and popular streamers within the game.
“Let’s put it this way, disregarding prize winnings… If you’re not winning tournaments but are a popular streamer, then your earnings as a content creator are probably higher. Someone like ‘Nix’, for instance, likely earns more than anyone in the pro scene, possibly even including prize money. He’s truly revolutionized popularity in my view.”
Daxak’s Dota 2 journey began in 2017. Since then, he has consistently placed in top positions at significant tournaments, but hasn’t yet secured a victory at a tier-1 championship. According to Liquipedia, Kuzmin’s estimated prize earnings are around $186,000. As of this article’s writing, he is a free agent.
