Erling Haaland’s Father Hits Back at Arsenal’s Celebrations Following Man City Loss

After Arsenal’s resounding 5-1 victory over Manchester City, Erling Haaland’s father Alf-Inge responded sharply to the Gunners’ social media taunts.

Arsenal players mimicked Haaland’s meditation celebration after scoring, with young midfielder Myles Lewis-Skelly sitting cross-legged as teammates surrounded him. The club then posted an image of the celebration on social media with the caption “This team” and a fist emoji.

Alf-Inge Haaland quickly replied: “‘This Team’ that wins everything. Ehhhhh, not” followed by a blue heart emoji. This was likely referencing Manchester City’s recent dominance, having won 6 of the last 7 Premier League titles, while Arsenal’s last trophy was the FA Cup in 2020.

The exchange stems from ongoing tension between the clubs following a dramatic 2-2 draw earlier this season, where Haaland told Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta to “stay humble” after the match.

Fan reactions to Alf-Inge’s comments were mixed. Some accused Haaland of being a sore loser, while others praised him for putting Arsenal in their place. The incident adds another layer to the growing rivalry between Arsenal and Manchester City as they battle for Premier League supremacy.
