Chelsea and Manchester City are poised to gain from the most substantial financial reward in football history as they participate in the inaugural expanded Club World Cup this summer.
FIFA officials have confirmed an astounding £776 million prize fund for the 32-team competition, scheduled to take place in the USA during June and July.

The competition will be financed by a global television rights agreement with the streaming service DAZN.
European teams, numbering 12, are set to receive the largest upfront payments.
The prize distribution will heavily favor teams that advance to the later stages of the tournament, with complete details expected to be released next week.
However, it is anticipated that reaching the quarter-finals alone will yield £60 million for the two Premier League clubs.
Winning the entire tournament could potentially bring a reward of £100 million.
FIFA will also allocate a significant “solidarity” payment to clubs and national associations that are not participating in the event.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino stated, “The FIFA Club World Cup will not only be the pinnacle of club football.”
“But it will also serve as a powerful demonstration of unity, offering benefits to clubs on a scale unmatched by any previous competition.”
“All earnings generated by the tournament will be distributed among the participating clubs and through club solidarity initiatives worldwide, as FIFA will retain no portion of the revenue.”
“FIFA’s reserves, designated for global football development, will remain untouched.”
