Good news for FURIA Esports fans and their star AWPer, Danil “molodoy” Golubenko. After facing recent travel uncertainties that caused a bit of a stir, the player is now confirmed to arrive in Belgrade, Serbia, just in time for the start of the FISSURE Playground #1 CS2 tournament.
This confirmation comes directly from the source, FURIA CEO Andre Akkari. In comments provided to HLTV.org, Akkari clarified the situation, stating that molodoy is scheduled to land in the Serbian capital on July 14th. This timing is rather critical, as FURIA`s opening match at the tournament is set for July 15th against SAW, leaving just enough buffer for the player to settle in before jumping into competitive play.
The news resolves a minor saga that had developed around molodoy`s journey. The player had previously indicated on social media that he was experiencing significant difficulties leaving Kazakhstan, citing a series of unfortunate flight cancellations – a classic travel drama nobody wants right before a significant LAN event. This travel hiccup had even reportedly led to him missing the pre-tournament media day, adding to the uncertainty.
FISSURE Playground #1 is scheduled to run from July 15th to July 20th, taking place as a LAN event in Belgrade. The tournament`s playoff stage will feature live spectators, hosted at The Blue Hall venue. With molodoy`s arrival now secured, FURIA can prepare for the competition with their full roster present and accounted for, putting the travel troubles firmly in the rearview mirror.
