Juventus forward Alisha Lehmann recently shared insights into her early football career before gaining widespread recognition on the pitch and through social media.
Lehmann, 26, has been a professional footballer since 2016. Her profile significantly rose when she began complementing her athletic career with modeling on various platforms, notably Instagram.
This led to her amassing an impressive online following of 16.4 million and being dubbed the “world`s sexiest footballer.”
The Switzerland international revealed she felt a strong connection to football from the tender age of six, when she played with boys.
The former Aston Villa player even stated that she was “faster than the boys,” which prompted her to join a local club.
She considers the definitive turning point in her career to be when she was scouted by Young Boys at age 11. This marked the official start of her structured football journey.
Recalling her early experiences, Lehmann said, “When I was six or seven, I joined a club. As a child, I was very fast, faster than the boys. I started in my village and always wanted to play.”
She continued, “The moment everything changed was when I joined Young Boys: I was 11 or 12 years old. At that time, we trained with the boys in the mornings and played with the girls on weekends…”
Lehmann also addressed comments she receives about her appearance off the pitch. “I`m a girl, I`m feminine, and I like nails. I`m not a full-back, I don`t have to take throw-ins.” She added firmly, “People talk about these things too much; they don`t influence what happens on the pitch in any way. I`m always criticised for these things. I don`t care what they write.”
Fans were reportedly baffled when Mark Goldbridge chatted with Alisha Lehmann during a Baller League live watchalong.
