Jannik Sinner Breaks Masters 1000 Set Record with Dominant Miami Open Win

Jannik Sinner continues his impressive run, confidently dispatching Corentin Moutet 6-1, 6-4 on Monday to advance to the Round of 16 at the Miami Open. This decisive victory marked a remarkable milestone for Sinner: he has now won 26 consecutive sets at Masters 1000 tournaments.

The Italian sensation has officially surpassed the previous record of 24 consecutive sets, a feat held by Novak Djokovic between Indian Wells and Monte-Carlo in 2016. Sinner also exceeded Carlos Alcaraz’s 21 sets from Indian Wells and Miami in 2023, solidifying his dominance on the ATP tour.

Currently ranked world No. 2, Sinner is poised to narrow the gap to the top of the ATP rankings following Alcaraz’s elimination on Sunday. Despite a semi-final defeat at the Australian Open, Sinner has shown immense prowess in recent Masters 1000 events, clinching the Indian Wells title last month and making a strong final appearance at the Paris Masters in November 2023. He boasts an impressive streak of 13 consecutive victories at Masters 1000 level and is now aiming for a third successive Masters 1000 crown, which would also be his second title of the current year.

Sinner is set to face Alex Michelsen in the Round of 16. Their highly anticipated match is scheduled for Tuesday, March 24th, with a tentative start time of 9:00 PM CET / 8:00 PM GMT at the earliest.
