Lesta Games marked the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory with large-scale events in its popular titles: World of Tanks, World of Warships, and Tanks Blitz. From April 30th to May 9th, players had access to themed activities dedicated to commemorating the heroism of those who participated in the Great Patriotic War.
World of Tanks
In World of Tanks, the “Time of Heroes” event commenced on April 30th. The in-game garage was specially decorated to resemble Red Square. As part of a Battle Pass, players could engage in recreations of pivotal battles – from the Battle of Moscow to the Storming of Berlin – featuring historical tanks and guided by Soviet commanders. Additionally, a series of notes titled “Frontline Diary: Path to Victory” was released, and a Battle Pass planned for late May will offer the opportunity to earn a unique trophy tank, the “Maus”.
On May 9th, the World of Tanks team released a video showcasing a virtual parade on Red Square. This video highlighted tank units that participated in the Great Patriotic War.
A representative from the company commented: “We believe our games should serve as another bridge connecting generations and passing on the relay of memory about the immortal feat of the Soviet people. In nearly three years of independent and autonomous development of the trilogy, we have transformed our games into unique and original projects, but one thing remains constant: we celebrate the most important and memorable dates together with our players. And our audience appreciates this.”
World of Warships
In World of Warships, an update released on May 6th was dedicated to the heroic deeds of the Baltic Fleet. The main port of Kronstadt received festive decorations, and a strategic operation titled “Feats of the Baltic Fleet” was prepared for players, covering stages from the lifting of the Siege of Leningrad to the liberation of Europe. A new map, “Last Harbor,” created using archival materials, was also introduced. The celebration in World of Warships was set to conclude with a virtual ship parade.
Tanks Blitz
In the mobile game Tanks Blitz, the “May Salute” event was launched. Players earned “fireworks” by winning battles, which could then be used to decorate the in-game sky. The game also featured a holiday-themed hangar, special music, and vehicles specifically themed for Victory Day.
