Streamer Ilya “Maddyson” Davydov addressed an unusual situation via his Telegram channel: condoms featuring his photograph on the packaging have begun appearing for sale on the internet. The blogger stated he has absolutely no involvement with these products and never authorized the use of his image.
“Guys, I have no clue who`s doing this, and like, it has nothing to do with me,” he wrote. “I`m not selling anything, I don`t have any trademark, so anyone can slap my photo on anything, seriously, even on hemorrhoid cream. Now I`ll deal with this with a lawyer, since this issue has come up.”
The streamer joked that if he were genuinely considering producing such items, he would approach the process with more creativity. He also cautioned his followers against linking his name to the quality of these particular condoms.
“If I decided to do it, I`d make some fun ones, maybe with mustaches,” he added. “But they even took some ugly photos, like, `skuf` style. I don`t bear any responsibility for these. Now someone might actually think they`re mine, buy them, they`ll turn out leaky, and it`ll be really not funny.”
Maddyson concluded by calling the whole situation “pure `rofl`” (internet slang for something purely for laughs or a joke). However, he did mention that around 15 people had already messaged him about the issue just that morning.
