Man Utd Open Talks for Bryan Mbeumo, Brentford Demanding £60m Fee

Reports suggest Manchester United have initiated discussions with Brentford regarding their prominent forward, Bryan Mbeumo.

The 25-year-old Cameroon international has reportedly expressed a desire to join Old Trafford this summer.

Brentford is open to selling their previous record signing during this transfer window but intends to demand a substantial fee.

Sky Sports claims United has made initial contact with the Bees before submitting an official offer.

Mbeumo has drawn attention from several clubs this summer, including Tottenham, Newcastle, and Arsenal.

However, indications suggest the forward favors a move to United.

The Times reports that Mbeumo is seeking a significant increase in his salary at Old Trafford.

The publication adds that the player targeted by United is requesting £250,000 per week, which is FIVE TIMES his current £50,000 weekly wage at Brentford.

Mbeumo`s contract with Brentford has one year left, although the West London club holds an option to extend it for an additional 12 months.

Brentford is reportedly asking for a transfer fee of at least £60 million for their key forward.

Manager Thomas Frank recently commented: “It is clear that if he is to be sold, it must be for a very, very substantial amount. It is a lot. Mucho. Really a lot.”

He added, “How many wingers score around 20 goals for a mid-table club? Plus seven assists, his work ethic, and character. All these aspects mean he is highly valued and a good player.”

Last season, only Mohamed Salah, Alexander Isak, and Erling Haaland netted more Premier League goals than Mbeumo.

Manchester United aims to complete their transfer activity early this summer, having already confirmed the £62.5 million signing of Wolves forward Matheus Cunha.

While United is eager to bolster their attack, club officials are also conscious of the need to reduce their wage expenditure.

Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho, both earning over £300,000 weekly, are expected back from their loan spells at Aston Villa and Chelsea, respectively.

Furthermore, Antony is expected to rejoin the squad after his time at Real Betis.

United were also interested in Ipswich`s £30 million-rated player, Liam Delap, but the forward has opted to join Chelsea.
