Manchester United Defender’s Mistake Likely Led to Loss vs Tottenham

Manchester United’s Diogo Dalot may have cost his team the match against Tottenham on Sunday by failing to closely mark Son Heung-min before Spurs scored. Reports indicate that manager Ruben Amorim had urged Dalot to mark Son more tightly just moments before the goal.

Son’s volley created chaos in United’s defense, allowing James Maddison to score from close range. Amorim appeared visibly frustrated on the sidelines as his team suffered their 9th loss in 21 games under his leadership.

The defeat marked United’s second consecutive Premier League loss. However, Amorim was missing 12 players due to injuries and illness, forcing him to name 8 teenagers on the 9-man bench. The only experienced substitute was Victor Lindelof.

Despite the depleted squad, United had chances to score but were ultimately undone by defensive lapses. The loss drops them further behind Tottenham in the table as they struggle to find consistency this season.
