Manchester United Secures Arsenal Prodigy Ayden Heaven as Ruben Amorim’s Inaugural Signing
Manchester United has officially announced the acquisition of Arsenal’s rising star Ayden Heaven. The 18-year-old defender becomes the first signing under new manager Ruben Amorim, who took charge in November.
Heaven has committed to a long-term contract with United, extending until 2029. He is set to immediately join the first-team squad, signaling the club’s faith in his abilities.
Upon signing, Heaven expressed his excitement: “Joining Manchester United is a dream come true. I’m eager to develop further and contribute to the team’s success.”
Jason Wilcox, Manchester United’s chief executive, welcomed the young talent: “Ayden is an exceptional defender with immense potential. Our club has a strong tradition of nurturing young players, and we believe Ayden will thrive here.”
Sources indicate that United paid a significant compensation fee to secure Heaven’s services. The towering center-back made his senior debut for Arsenal in October during a Carabao Cup match against Preston.
Heaven had impressed during Arsenal’s pre-season tour in the United States. However, with his contract expiring in the summer, he reportedly declined a new offer from Arsenal, feeling his path to regular first-team football was limited.
This transfer marks another young talent moving from Arsenal to Manchester United, following striker Chido Obi-Martin’s recent switch. United continues to strengthen its youth ranks as it looks to build for the future under Amorim’s leadership.
