NetEase has unveiled the contents of the upcoming Season 3 Battle Pass for their hero shooter, Marvel Rivals. A standout feature is a new Symbiote skin for Spider-Man, which includes a widely recognized meme emote based on Toby Maguire`s dance from the movies.
The inspiration for the emote comes directly from a memorable scene in the film `Spider-Man 3`, where an `evil` version of Peter Parker performs a distinctive dance after leaving a store. Sam Raimi, the director of the original Spider-Man trilogy starring Toby Maguire, later explained that while the scene was initially met with mixed reactions from the audience, it was intentionally designed to be humorous and highlight the awkwardness of Peter Parker under the symbiote`s influence. Despite the initial reception, the dance sequence eventually became a highly popular internet meme.
Marvel Rivals Season 3 was officially announced on July 1st and is set to be released on July 11th. The first new hero to join the game`s roster will be Phoenix, whose gameplay developers previously previewed. Following her arrival, Blade is scheduled to be added in a subsequent update, version 3.5.
