Molodoy Discusses the Impact of Ping in Kazakhstan

FURIA Esports CS2 sniper Danil “molodoy” Golubenko believes that even with high ping in Kazakhstan, players have a good chance to succeed and reach the professional scene. He shared this perspective during an interview with blogger Erik “Shoke” Shokov.

When asked about the current ping situation in Kazakhstan, Molodoy confirmed it has improved. He recalled playing with a ping of around 120ms previously, compared to approximately 70ms now. Despite facing higher latency in the past, he managed to achieve top ranks. This experience led him to conclude that talent might be more critical than ping for breaking through, stating, “I think there`s a chance to succeed with ping. Even a very big chance. I think it all depends on desire, whether you want it or not.”

Molodoy also described the significant difference he immediately felt when experiencing lower ping for the first time at a bootcamp in Serbia. He noted that opponents move differently on the map and require faster reactions to eliminate them. With high ping, he explained, you shoot someone and have to wait for confirmation of the kill. In stark contrast, on low ping, targets die instantly, removing the need for that delayed feedback. He highlighted this difference in kill confirmation as “probably the biggest problem” he encountered while playing on high ping.

Molodoy transferred to FURIA from Amkal Esports in April. Since joining, the Brazilian roster competed at the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025, where they finished in 5th-8th place after being defeated by fellow Brazilian team paiN Gaming in the quarterfinals.
