The highly anticipated second season of the anime series “My Dress-Up Darling” (known in Japan as Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru) is officially scheduled to premiere on July 5, 2025. This exciting news was announced by Aniplex through a new teaser trailer recently published on YouTube.
“My Dress-Up Darling” is based on a popular romantic comedy manga series. The story centers on Wakana Gojo, a high school student who, due to childhood ridicule over his love for traditional Japanese dolls, lives a secluded life with minimal interaction with his peers. His world takes a dramatic turn when he encounters Marin Kitagawa, a highly popular and outgoing gyaru who is also a passionate cosplayer.
The original “My Dress-Up Darling” manga first began serialization in 2018 and has garnered significant praise, holding a strong rating of 8 out of 10 from users on the MyAnimeList portal. The manga was adapted into a successful anime series in 2022, which introduced many viewers to the story, and later received a live-action drama adaptation in 2024.
