Warner Bros. Pictures has unveiled a new trailer-featurette for the upcoming horror film, Final Destination: Bloodlines. The video was recently released, confirming the movie`s scheduled premiere date of May 16, 2025.
While plans for a sixth Final Destination installment have been known for several years, Warner Bros. only recently officially confirmed the project. Jon Watts, known for directing the recent Spider-Man trilogy, is serving as a producer. The screenplay is written by Guy Busick (Scream, Ready or Not) and Lori Evans Taylor (Wish Upon). Directing duties are handled by Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein (Freaks, Kim Possible).
The original Final Destination film series spanned from 2000 to 2011, comprising five feature films. The franchise`s core premise centers on a group of individuals who narrowly escape a horrific mass-casualty event, only to find Death relentlessly pursuing them to claim the lives they cheated. Bloodlines reportedly puts a unique twist on this formula: instead of the protagonists themselves escaping death directly, the grandmother of the main character reportedly cheated her fate, setting off a deadly chain reaction that targets the entire family line.
