Nintendo Switch 2: Replaceable Battery Expected Due to EU Regulations

Starting in 2027, a new European Union regulation will mandate that all consumer electronic devices sold within the EU must feature easily removable and replaceable batteries. This initiative aims to foster a more sustainable consumption model and significantly reduce the environmental impact of electronic waste.

The regulation will affect a wide array of devices, from common home appliances to video game consoles. Consequently, if a Nintendo Switch 2, or any future console, is released after 2027, it would need to comply with this directive, offering users the convenience of easily replacing its battery.
