Nottingham Forest Terminates Loan of Former England Midfielder James Ward-Prowse
Nottingham Forest has ended the loan deal for James Ward-Prowse, with the former England international set to return to his parent club West Ham United.
Ward-Prowse, 30, joined Forest on a season-long loan in August but has found playing time limited recently. He has not featured in Forest’s last four Premier League matches, with his last start coming against Arsenal in November.
The midfielder remains under contract with West Ham until 2027 after joining them from Southampton in 2023 for around £30 million. He could now re-enter West Ham’s plans under new manager Graham Potter.
During his time at Southampton, Ward-Prowse made 410 appearances after coming through their academy. In his first full season with West Ham, he contributed 7 goals and 7 assists across all competitions.
Ward-Prowse featured in Julen Lopetegui’s first game in charge at West Ham last August before being loaned out. His loan spell at Forest has now been cut short due to lack of playing time.
