For several years now, Pocketpair, the creators of the hit game Palworld, have had a unique way of celebrating April Fool’s Day: by sharing bits of information about their dating simulation project, playfully titled Palworld: More Than Just Pals. This tradition started with a humorous announcement, which was then followed a year later by a dedicated gag page on Steam. This year, however, the developers are taking things a significant step further, completely discarding caution and genuinely turning the game into a reality.
We understand that many might immediately assume this is just another elaborate joke. However, Pocketpair has repeatedly and clearly stated that this game is truly in the works. In a special presentation video, Bucky, the Head of Communications and Publishing, appeared alongside CEO Takuro Mizobe. They offered a playful wink towards the game before diving into increasingly precise details about its development.
The discussion included plans to hire more developers specifically experienced in dating simulations, with a firm assurance that no resources would be diverted from the main Palworld game, which is currently nearing its anticipated 1.0 launch. These claims seemed almost too good to be true, at least until the video continued, showcasing early glimpses of the game. This was then followed by a specific disclaimer promising that the project would soon enter full development, with Bucky reappearing to simply declare, “It’s real.”
So, if you’ve recently enjoyed playing other dating simulators, the exciting news is that Palworld is soon to introduce its unique take on the genre with this surprisingly tangible and real project.
