Streamer Vitaly “Papich” Tsal shared his thoughts on the cartoons he loved watching as a child. A clip from the broadcast was published online.
“I loved watching `Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles` and `Well, Wait!` – these were my favorite cartoons in childhood. Especially in childhood, when I was very little, because, for example, at 8-9 years old I already loved playing video games <...> Around five years old, `Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles` and `Well, Wait!` were super interesting to watch. Some episodes in `Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles` were incredibly interesting. They were such casual cartoons. In `Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles`, there are constantly villains who are trying to achieve something, and every episode they end up with nothing. Even at that age, I began to understand that something was wrong here. The villains have been devising some cunning plans for dozens of episodes, and they still fail. This Shredder constantly messes up like an idiot. Why does he never succeed? Why does he constantly fail so badly? Because, judging by the setting, Shredder should be a super-intelligence and a super-fighter and defeat the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, defeat them in ten episodes.
I always rooted for Shredder. I always rooted for the so-called villains. In `Tom and Jerry`, I rooted for Tom, of course, and in `Well, Wait!` – for the Wolf. It`s sad, they are constantly losing.”
Tsal also shared his opinion about anime.
[Question: `Is anime also casual cartoons?`] In anime, villains at least sometimes win, but the plots there are stupid. The plots are too unrealistic, they are just very stupid. In anime, there are constantly some super-super-intelligences who outplay each other. They are simultaneously 300 IQ geniuses who can think through absolutely everything a thousand steps ahead, and at the same time they are masters in all sports and masters of shooting. Well, in short, anime is generally [awful]. It seems to me that anime is a genre that breeds [liars] in real life. Because the heroes in anime can do absolutely everything – it`s some kind of nonsense. A typical anime character, according to the plot, is a teenager or 20 years old, and he can do what a person could really only do after living at least a thousand years. That is, it takes a thousand years to master all these skills.”
Earlier, Papich reflected on actor Jackie Chan. The streamer called him a legend of cinema, and the stunts performed by the artist – an example.
