Dota 2 analyst y0nd reported that the team Payk (also known as Edge) might be disqualified from PGL Wallachia Season 4. The reason for this potential disqualification is that Khaled “sQreen” El-Khabbash, who serves as the head of Dota 2 for the organization, allegedly placed a bet on a match within the tournament.
According to information shared by y0nd, PGL regulations prohibit anyone affiliated with a team, including managers, CEOs, and coaches, from betting on games within tournaments where their team is participating. This situation is being compared to a previous incident involving TpaBoMaH, who bet on a match involving his own team.
Previously, a similar situation occurred with Timur “TpaBoMaH” Khafizov`s team. The streamer publicly announced on social media that he had bet against his team, RABOTYAGI, in a match at European Pro League Season 25. Following RABOTYAGI`s loss in that match, organizers disqualified the team. This incident led to the creation of what is now known as the “TpaBoMaH rule” by tournament organizers.
PGL Wallachia Season 4 is taking place in Bucharest, Romania, from April 19th to 27th. Sixteen teams are competing for a $1 million prize pool.
