The premiere date for the fantasy series “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” (with the subtitle “The Hedge Knight”) has been shifted to 2026. This represents a delay from the initially planned release in the latter half of 2025. The news regarding the schedule change was reported by the publication Variety.
“A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” serves as an adaptation of George R.R. Martin`s popular novellas centered around the adventures of the humble, wandering knight Ser Duncan the Tall and his young squire, known as Egg. The events depicted in the show are set approximately a century prior to the narrative of “Game of Thrones,” placing it in the timeline after the events covered in “House of the Dragon.”
Earlier, the author George R.R. Martin, the acclaimed creator of the “A Song of Ice and Fire” saga, expressed significant praise for the upcoming “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” series. According to Martin, he has viewed all six episodes of the series and was thoroughly impressed, even though the final two episodes were presented in a rough cut format. He shared his enthusiasm, stating, “Dunk and Egg have always been my favorites, and the actors who play them are simply incredible. The rest of the cast is also amazing.”
