Premier League Clubs Pursuing Feyenoord Star Igor Paixao After Champions League Performance
Multiple Premier League teams are showing interest in Feyenoord’s Brazilian winger Igor Paixao following his stellar performance in the Champions League. Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, and AFC Bournemouth have all expressed interest in the 24-year-old attacker after he scored the winning goal against AC Milan and consistently troubled England defender Kyle Walker throughout the match.
Paixao has been in excellent form this season, tallying 8 goals and 14 assists across Eredivisie and Champions League play. His speed, dribbling ability, and finishing skills were on full display against Milan as he repeatedly beat Walker and created chances. Feyenoord reportedly values Paixao at around £25 million.
In addition to his goal, Paixao led all players in successful dribbles during the match. He also hit the crossbar, won possession multiple times, and nearly scored from the halfway line after dispossessing Walker. Paixao previously registered an assist in Feyenoord’s 3-3 draw with Manchester City earlier in the Champions League campaign.
With his combination of pace, technical ability, and end product, Paixao appears ready to make the jump to the Premier League. Multiple English clubs will likely pursue his signature this summer as the Brazilian looks to take the next step in his promising career.
