Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister was targeted with missiles from the Paris Saint-Germain supporters’ section as he went to take a corner during their Champions League match, which Liverpool lost on penalties to PSG.
The Reds entered the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie with a narrow 1-0 advantage but were ultimately defeated in a dramatic exit from the competition.

Liverpool had previously secured a 1-0 victory in the first leg in Paris, with Harvey Elliott scoring in the 87th minute, their only shot that was on target in that game.
Playing at Anfield on Tuesday night, the Premier League leaders aimed to extend their lead and advance in the competition.
However, it was PSG who opened the scoring in the 12th minute. Ousmane Dembele capitalized on a mistake by Liverpool defender Ibrahim Konate to put the French side ahead.
Dembele’s goal sparked enthusiastic celebrations among the PSG supporters in the stadium.
Tensions remained high as the game progressed, with both teams vying for control.
When Liverpool was awarded a corner kick, PSG fans continued their disruptive behavior.
Mac Allister, the Argentine midfielder, approached the corner flag to take the kick.
In disturbing scenes, he was met with a hail of projectiles, including bottles, thrown from the section of the stadium housing PSG supporters.
The actions of the PSG fans were met with immediate disapproval from Liverpool supporters.
Social media was quickly filled with comments from Liverpool fans condemning the missile-throwing behavior of the away fans.
One fan commented online: “That’s just unacceptable behavior.”
Another wrote: “Throwing bottles, no class at all.”
One suggested: “The stewards should have ejected them immediately.”
Another simply stated: “What clowns.”
As the match continued, neither team managed to score again, leading to a penalty shootout to decide the winner.
Ultimately, PSG advanced to the quarter-finals after Liverpool players Darwin Nunez and Curtis Jones had their penalty kicks saved by the PSG goalkeeper.
