Quantum Team Reacts to Lukas 322 Scandal at EPL S27, Player Removed

Esports organization Quantum Team has terminated its contract with Dota 2 carry player Dmitry `Lukas` Davydov following a match-fixing incident at European Pro League Season 27. The incident resulted in the team`s disqualification from the tournament. Quantum Team released a statement explaining their decision.

The organization released an official statement:

Official Statement from Quantum:
We have become aware of a situation that raises concerns about the integrity of Dmitry `Lukas` Davydov`s gameplay during yesterday`s match against 4Pirates at the EPL tournament. This conduct is completely unacceptable and violates our core principles.
We immediately launched an internal investigation, reviewed all relevant information, and have taken disciplinary action: the player is no longer affiliated with our organization.
We extend our apologies to his teammates, opponents, and the EPL tournament organizers for this incident. We strongly condemn any form of unfair play, remain dedicated to fair competition, and are prepared to collaborate with organizers to fully resolve this matter.
Thank you to everyone who champions honest esports.

Quantum CEO Daniil Baltser also commented on the situation.

When creating this organization and investing my own resources and effort, our goal was to build something we could be proud of. The situation that unfolded is horrific to me. As soon as I learned of it, I directed management to conduct an internal investigation and, if confirmed, to immediately terminate the contract with the player and anyone else found to be involved.
The principles and values of Quantum are our absolute and most crucial criteria, the very reason we do this. Anyone who attempts to betray these values for questionable, fleeting gain is unworthy of association with our brand. Never.

The incident occurred during Quantum Team`s match against 4Pirates in the group stage of European Pro League S27 on June 29th. Quantum lost the series 0:2. Notably, the team`s performance on the second map was subpar despite holding an advantage. Subsequently, a recording emerged online, reportedly from the perspective of a Quantum stand-in named `krinzhik.` The audio captured discussions related to betting on the match and statements suggesting the carry player`s deliberate intent to lose.

This video evidence caused significant controversy within the Dota 2 community. On June 30th, European Pro League S27 organizers officially disqualified Quantum Team from the tournament, citing Lukas`s conduct as conclusive evidence of unfair play.
