Dota 2 professional player Roman “RAMZES666” Kushnarev has confirmed his intention to form a team specifically for the qualifiers leading to The International 2025.
In a streamed statement, Kushnarev commented: “It`s like the tournament isn`t as prestigious anymore. But, generally, you can get the achievement. I`ll do everything in my power, assuming I play at all. We`ll see, maybe I`ll even reach it this year, who knows.” He added his prediction: “Yes, this year Vovanchik [No[o]ne] will probably claim `The Int`, guys, most likely.” When asked if he would create content around the open qualifiers, he replied: “I think there will definitely be something. I will definitely assemble some roster one way or another.”
Previously, Kushnarev had considered retiring from competitive play. He mentioned that the final decision would depend on the current state of Valve`s MOBA title. “I really don`t like the patch in Dota at all, absolutely. I don`t like the current direction Dota is heading,” he stated concerning the game`s state.
The International 2025 is scheduled to be held in Hamburg, Germany, running from September 4th to 14th. The event will feature 16 participating teams. The current prize pool for the tournament remains undisclosed.
