He demonstrated incredible determination to surge into the penalty area and calmly slot the ball past Gianluigi Donnarumma with his first touch.

This goal secured a vital away win for Arne Slot’s team, giving them a 1-0 advantage heading into the second leg at Anfield next week.

Elliott, 21, spoke to reporters on the field post-match alongside Alisson, the man of the match, who had made numerous key saves to keep Liverpool in the game.

Furthermore, Elliott made time for a post-match cool-down, participating in drills with his fellow substitutes.

Rio Ferdinand, commentating on the game for TNT Sport, praised Elliott’s dedication after seeing him complete his cool-down exercises.

Ferdinand commented: “Professionalism of the highest order.”

Elliott has shown patience this season, having only started four games prior to this one.

However, he has thrived in European competitions this season and now boasts three goals in his last three Champions League appearances.

Elliott’s goal was only Liverpool’s second shot on target in the entire match, arriving in the 87th minute.

PSG registered 27 shots and dominated possession with 71%, but were denied by Alisson’s brilliance and VAR, which disallowed Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s first-half goal.
