Ruben Amorim is adamant that he remains the ideal candidate to lead Manchester United in the long run.
However, the Portuguese manager is aware of the potential repercussions if the team doesn’t start securing more victories.

The Red Devils were eliminated from the FA Cup by Fulham on Sunday, marking Amorim’s tenth defeat in just 24 matches. The team, currently in 14th place, is facing the possibility of their lowest-ever Premier League finish after a disappointing season.
Manchester United’s sole opportunity for silverware this season lies in the Europa League, where they are set to face a challenging first leg against Real Sociedad tonight.
Amorim recently mentioned twice that he is uncertain if he will remain at Old Trafford to witness the club’s ambition of winning the Premier League by 2028.
When questioned about whether he is the right person to lead the team forward, Amorim stated, “That is clear, I know what to do. But sometimes results are lacking.”
“So I am aware of the consequences when you don’t achieve victories.”
“I have been really confident from the start, although a bit more frustrated now, I remain confident.”
“I am really confident in achieving the club’s major goal. I am trying to convey the bigger picture to our supporters.”
Amorim joined from Sporting in November, and there have been questions about the effectiveness of his preferred 3-4-3 formation, especially with the current squad.
However, he is not willing to change his approach, saying: “The system is not the issue, it’s the style of play.”
“I have always been very clear. I have a specific idea. I remain confident because I have a vision of how to play football.”

“I will not change that, regardless. And I’m not referring to the system itself, but to my football philosophy.”
“I will not deviate from it. We will either succeed with it, or we won’t, we shall see.”
Harry Maguire and Manuel Ugarte will be absent from the first leg in San Sebastian after missing training and not traveling to Spain.
English centre-back Maguire was substituted after playing the full 90 minutes of Sunday’s FA Cup defeat to Fulham, while Uruguayan midfielder Ugarte was also taken off in the second half.
Both players have minor injuries.
Amorim added: “They are minor issues, so we are being cautious with them because at the moment, we cannot afford to lose more players for an extended period.”
“Therefore, we are attending to them at Carrington, and they are unable to participate in this game as it would pose a greater risk.”
