Renowned producer Jerry Bruckheimer, known for blockbusters like “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “The Rock,” is actively developing a sequel to the acclaimed 1995 film “Crimson Tide.” This news was shared by Bruckheimer himself during an interview on The Rich Eisen Show.
Bruckheimer stated that the project has “very good director and screenwriter” on board, who are currently engaged in consultations with representatives from the U.S. Navy. He also expressed his hope for the return of Denzel Washington (known for roles in “The Book of Eli,” “The Equalizer”), who played a pivotal role in the original movie. “If we give him a good script, I think he`ll agree,” Bruckheimer commented.
The original “Crimson Tide” premiered in 1995. Its plot centered on the crew of an American submarine tasked with receiving orders to potentially launch a nuclear strike on Russian targets. However, the imminent threat of nuclear war becomes complicated by a heated conflict that arises between the submarine`s commanding officer and his executive officer.
