SEREGA PIRAT Explains His Role Choice at BB Streamers Battle 9

Musician Sergey “SEREGA PIRAT” Malyar recently shared his thoughts on his performance at the BetBoom Streamers Battle 9 Dota 2 tournament. In a post-match interview following his first playoff game, he explained his decision to join the competition and his reasons for not playing carry roles.

When asked about his choice to play support instead of carry, SEREGA PIRAT stated, “It’s an interesting question. People often ask why I’m not playing carry, and why I’m often quiet. Obviously, if I were to play carry, we’d lose all our games. How could I compete with top 10 players? I hadn’t even played Dota for eight months before this tournament.”

SEREGA PIRAT revealed that he initially joined the BetBoom Streamers Battle 9 team for his viewers, who were craving Dota 2 content. However, he soon found himself enjoying the competition and preparation for matches.

Regarding his motivation to participate, he explained, “As a content creator, I understand that BetBoom Streamers Battle is incredibly popular. I had been playing Kingdom Come for a month or two, and everyone was going crazy asking, ‘When will you play Dota or anything else?’ When I was offered to participate in Streamers Battle, I agreed for the sake of my subscribers and viewers.”

He added, “It’s interesting and exciting. At first, I thought I’d just show up, lose, and go back to my usual activities. But I got so into it that after losing a game as Rubick in the group stage, I was praying for our team to advance. Now, I’m determined to perform well and I’m really enjoying the experience.”

SEREGA PIRAT’s team, UNLUCK, began their playoff journey with a victory against LenaGol0vach’s team, MOPSIKI, in the first round of the lower bracket. Their next opponent will be Korb3n’s team, MUSIC HALL.
