Sikle Explains Potential Doom Buyback Bug in Aurora vs PARIVISION Match

Mark `sikle` Lerman, an analyst for Team Spirit`s Dota 2 roster, commented on the Doom buyback bug that appeared during the Aurora Gaming versus PARIVISION match in the PGL Wallachia Season 4 playoffs. He shared his thoughts on the matter in a Telegram post.

Interesting math with Doom and Aurora. Egor`s net worth is 37046, so buyback should cost around 3049. But since he has the `crappy` aspect (+20% increase in buyback cost), it costs 3659 (which is what is shown).

However, here`s the bug – I quickly tested it, and because a buyback had already occurred before this, the aspect applies the buyback penalty twice. So, it most likely costs 4390 right now. The player has 4221 gold on hand + the `Devour` buff, so he could potentially press the button in 25 seconds when more gold is credited.

These are guesses based on one lobby test, so I can`t be certain.

The bug, which prevented Doom from buying back despite having seemingly sufficient gold, was encountered by Aurora Gaming`s carry, Egor `Nightfall` Grigorenko, during the decisive map of the upper bracket semifinal against PARIVISION. At the time of publication, the match was paused.
