Silva Angered by Substitution Blunder in Bournemouth Defeat

Fulham`s manager, Marco Silva, expressed his frustration with the fourth official after a substitution error occurred during their 1-0 loss to Bournemouth.

Due to an administrative mistake, Ryan Sessegnon was unexpectedly substituted in the 57th minute as part of a planned triple change.

Bournemouth took the lead 1-0 early in the game. To try and score, Fulham made a triple substitution in the 57th minute, bringing on Adama Traore, Raul Jimenez, and Tom Cairney.

Viewers watching at home saw these three players replace Sessegnon, Sander Berge, and Rodrigo Muniz at the Vitality Stadium.

However, the substitutions took over five minutes to complete, causing referee Michael Oliver to inquire about the delay.

It was later revealed that Fulham did not intend to substitute Sessegnon, but were forced to due to the error.

Manager Silva was visibly angry about the situation and argued with the fourth official, Tim Robinson, although it remains unclear which player he intended to substitute instead of Sessegnon.

Premier League rules state that once a player is substituted, they cannot return to the match.

Commentators noted that the substitution board initially indicated Ryan Sessegnon`s name, while Fulham`s staff indicated that he was not meant to be substituted.

Bournemouth`s Antoine Semenyo scored a quick goal in the first minute of the match.

Bournemouth`s victory marked their first win in nine games across all competitions, boosting their chances for a European Conference League spot.
