Hearthstone streamer Vladislav “SilverName” Sinotov recently commented on the decreased quality of Twitch streams available to users in Russia. According to the content creator, this situation is a direct consequence of the widespread use of ad-blocking software.
In his post, SilverName sarcastically addressed users, asking if they were satisfied with the stream quality being cut to 720p, suggesting it was a direct outcome of their use of ad blockers. He reiterated his belief that advertising serves as the engine of progress and expressed frustration that viewers found watching even short 30-second ads difficult. He clarified that his commentary was focused on the broader corporate dynamics rather than his personal income.
The loss of the 1080p stream option for Russian Twitch users was reported on June 23rd. Subsequently, Twitch representatives confirmed the reduction, citing economic considerations as the reason for limiting the maximum available video resolution.
