Manchester United supporters were surprised to hear their team mentioned during a Sky Sports darts broadcast, and not in a positive way.
The Premier League Darts event took place in Exeter this week, featuring star player Luke Littler.

Littler reached the final but was defeated by Luke Humphries. Earlier in the evening, he won his first match against Stephen Bunting.
Despite feeling unwell, the 18-year-old Littler played exceptionally well, achieving an average score of 112.34.
Known as “The Nuke,” Littler won 6-3, even though Bunting also played impressively with an average of 104.
Bunting appeared dejected towards the end of the match, during which Littler scored an impressive ten 180s.
Commentator Stuart Pyke and Wayne Mardle were providing commentary for Sky Sports.
Mardle commented on the Premier League format, describing it as continuous and demanding.
Pyke, in response to Bunting’s pressure, joked, “There is no Manchester United to relieve the pressure in this Premier League.”
Mardle, laughing, then added, “For anyone offended by that, we’re sorry.”
One fan on X (formerly Twitter) reacted, “Man United even catching stray jokes at the darts, they can’t catch a break.”
Another fan commented with humor, “I can’t even avoid Manchester United being made fun of when I’m watching darts. We are truly finished.”
The darts player Luke Littler is a well-known Manchester United supporter.
After his victory over Michael van Gerwen at the Ally Pally last month, Littler proudly displayed his trophy at Manchester United’s stadium, Old Trafford.
However, unlike Littler’s success, Manchester United’s performance has declined over the past year.
Despite the appointment of manager Ruben Amorim in November, Manchester United is currently struggling in the lower half of the Premier League table.
Despite his busy schedule, Amorim took the time to congratulate Littler on his World Championship victory.
Littler mentioned in a darts podcast interview that while he hasn’t personally met Ruben Amorim, he received a video message from him saying, “Well done on the world championships. I wasn’t expecting that.”
