Solo Leveling Creators Discuss Season 3 and Call for Fan Energy

The producers of the anime “Solo Leveling” shared their thoughts on the production of the upcoming third season. They discussed the realities of bringing the show to life during a recent AMA (Ask Me Anything) session on Reddit.

A-1 Pictures animation producer Atsushi Kaneko and Aniplex producer Sota Furuhashi stated that they require “the help and energy of the fans” to produce the third season. They likened the process to gathering a Spirit Bomb from Dragon Ball Z, emphasizing the significant amount of resources and effort involved in the production of “Solo Leveling.”

Crunchyroll head Raul Purini also commented on the third season in an interview with Deadline. He noted that the anime market is currently very saturated, and A-1 Pictures is aiming to work on several projects concurrently. Furthermore, Kaneko previously admitted that a single episode of “Solo Leveling” can take between 10 and 12 months to produce. This extended timeline means finding dedicated time to commence work on the third season poses a challenge.

The “Solo Leveling” anime adapts the popular manhwa of the same name. It tells the story of the weakest hunter who mysteriously gains the ability to level up after a perilous expedition into a dungeon. As of this writing, two seasons of the series have been released. The show has been well-received, holding a rating of 8.6 out of 10 on IMDb and 8.4 out of 10 on Kinopoisk.
