Sony Addresses PSN Outage and Offers Compensation to Users
Sony recently addressed the widespread PlayStation Network (PSN) outage, attributing it to “operational issues.” The company released a statement on their social media platforms to inform users about the situation.
While Sony representatives refrained from disclosing specific details about the incident, they expressed gratitude to users for their patience and reiterated their apologies for the inconvenience caused. As a gesture of goodwill, Sony announced a compensation plan for affected users. All active PlayStation Plus subscribers will receive a five-day extension to their current subscription, which will be automatically added to their accounts.
The PSN server outage occurred on February 7th and lasted approximately 20 hours. During this time, users experienced disruptions to various online services, including multiplayer gaming, PS Plus features, and other network-dependent activities. The extensive downtime significantly impacted the PlayStation community, prompting Sony to take swift action in addressing the issue and offering compensation.
