Sprinklers Soak Daniel Sturridge, Wayne Rooney, and Amazon Prime Team at Liverpool Game

Daniel Sturridge and Wayne Rooney experienced an unexpected shower when sprinklers turned on during their Amazon Prime Video coverage of the Liverpool versus Paris Saint-Germain Champions League match.

The pair, both former England national team players, were on set with presenter Gabby Logan and AC Milan icon Clarence Seedorf for Amazon Prime’s halftime show.

The incident happened during halftime of the exciting game at Anfield, catching the commentators by surprise.

Footage broadcast on Amazon Prime Video showed the team reacting quickly to avoid getting drenched by the sprinklers.

Daniel Sturridge, aged 35, even let out a shriek as he dodged the water.

The four personalities had just finished analyzing an action-packed first half.

Liverpool entered the second leg with a 1-0 advantage from the previous week’s game in Paris.

However, Paris Saint-Germain, coached by Luis Enrique, quickly equalized in the 12th minute of the match with a goal from Ousmane Dembele.

Liverpool’s manager, Arne Slot, had previously admitted that his team was “lucky” to secure a win in the first leg.

Despite facing significant pressure from PSG, Liverpool managed to win the first match thanks to a late goal by Harvey Elliott.

Arne Slot commented on the first leg victory, saying, “We weren’t a little bit lucky, we were really lucky – but as Michael Jordan famously said: 'The harder you work, the more luck you have'.”

He praised his players, stating, “This is the biggest compliment you have to give the players, they worked incredibly hard.”

Slot further elaborated on the team’s resilience: “That also has to do with the players being – after 45 minutes of the opposition dominating possession and constant defending – mentally and physically strong enough to deliver a second-half performance where they conceded fewer clear chances than in the first half.”

He concluded, “And even scoring a goal on the counter-attack demonstrates the mental and physical strength of these players.”
