The latest installment of the hit series “Squid Game” has reportedly set a new benchmark on Netflix for the speed at which it accumulated views. This season, possibly the finale or part of the third series, impressively achieved 60.1 million views within merely three days of its release.
To put this into perspective, the second season of “Squid Game” initially premiered with 68 million views, but it required four days to reach that number. This makes the newest release the fastest-debuting installment to date. Furthermore, this latest chapter secured a place among the top ten most successful non-English language series premieres in Netflix`s history, landing at the ninth spot.
In terms of overall viewership dominance for non-English shows on the platform, the first season of “Squid Game” still leads significantly with a total of 265 million views, while the second season holds the second position with 192 million views. The highly successful first season originally debuted in September 2021, earning average user ratings of 8/10 on IMDb and 7.5/10 on Kinopoisk. The second season was released in December 2024, followed by the third season in June 2025.
