Space simulator Star Citizen continues to break records in fundraising from players, having already earned over $800 million.
According to updated data from the official game website, the total audience of Star Citizen has exceeded 5.5 million users. In the last week of March alone, from March 21st to 27th, players donated over $4 million, and the game`s monthly revenue is about $6 million.
The largest influx of funds in the last six months was recorded in November 2024, when the game received $20.4 million and surpassed the $751 million mark.
The development of Star Citizen, accompanied by a crowdfunding campaign, has been ongoing since 2012. Along with the main multiplayer game, Cloud Imperium Games studio is also working on the story-driven campaign Squadron 42.
Patch 4.1 for Star Citizen was released at the end of March. Previously, the developers of Star Citizen shared plans for the future of the game, including the addition of crafting, base building, and new game systems. They also presented over an hour of gameplay from the single-player campaign Squadron 42.
