Streamer Oleg “stray228” Bocharov has shared his opinion on the future of the game Deadlock, stating that he believes it is unlikely to succeed. According to the content creator, Valve`s MOBA-shooter had a chance for development when it was announced, but the company failed to capitalize on the opportune moment for effective promotion.
“Deadlock is already dead. Deadlock died before it was even born, guys. Because Valve suddenly just gave up on it. Like, they could have announced a Deadlock International at the last `Dota` International, back when there was hype for Deadlock, and everything would have been great. But they didn`t do that, and now, I don`t know the current online player count for Deadlock… like, 6,000 people? Maybe, if we`re lucky.”
Stray228 recounted his own experience with the game: “I last played Deadlock last year in October, when we played a tournament with Recrent and others. I finished top 3 worldwide and haven`t touched it since.”
“Deadlock won`t take off, I think. Yeah, I`d give it a 99% chance it won`t succeed, because they`ve just abandoned it.”
Notably, Valve did release a significant update for Deadlock in mid-June, making adjustments to character stats, balance, and map elements.
