VfB Stuttgart’s winger Jamie Leweling has been forced to withdraw from the German national team squad due to a calf injury, making him unavailable for the upcoming friendly matches.
The German national team will proceed without Jamie Leweling for their preparatory games against Switzerland and Ghana. The German Football Association (DFB) confirmed on Tuesday that the young VfB Stuttgart talent had to leave the training camp due to a muscular issue in his calf.
Leweling initially reported to the Germany camp as planned, but following comprehensive medical examinations, it was determined that he would need to return to Stuttgart for recovery.
According to reports from Sky Germany, head coach Julian Nagelsmann does not intend to call up a replacement player to fill Leweling’s spot in the squad.
This marks another injury setback for the national team, as Leweling’s withdrawal follows earlier departures of Bayern Munich’s Aleksandar Pavlović and Borussia Dortmund’s Felix Nmecha, both also sidelined by injuries. Their places were subsequently filled by Stuttgart’s Angelo Stiller and Chris Führich, who were called up as replacements.
