Supercomputer Forecasts Tough FA Cup Fifth Round for Manchester United
A supercomputer simulation has predicted the FA Cup fifth round draw, suggesting Manchester United may face a challenging away fixture. The Red Devils secured their place in the last 16 with a controversial 2-1 victory over Leicester City on Friday.
According to the simulation, United could be heading to Millwall for their first match at The Den in 35 years, setting up a potentially explosive clash. Millwall earned their spot by defeating Championship leaders Leeds United 2-0 at Elland Road.
The simulated draw proposes only three all-Premier League matchups. In London, Fulham is tipped to host Burnley in a Premier League vs Championship confrontation. Manchester City could welcome Cardiff City to the Etihad Stadium following their narrow win against Leyton Orient.
One of the most anticipated fixtures could see Aston Villa face Carabao Cup finalists Newcastle at Villa Park. The simulation also suggests a clash between Premier League sides Ipswich and Wolves at Portman Road.
Other predicted matches include Brighton hosting the winner of Doncaster vs Crystal Palace, and Bournemouth welcoming the victor of Exeter vs Nottingham Forest.
The official FA Cup fifth round draw is scheduled for Monday evening and will be broadcast on BBC One’s The One Show, with Kelly Somers hosting and Alex Scott and Theo Walcott conducting the draw.
