System Shock 2 Remaster Receives New Title, Release Date Reveal Coming Soon
Nightdive Studios has announced a name change for their highly anticipated remaster of the classic sci-fi horror game. Previously known as System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition, the project will now be called System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster. The studio shared this information through their official social media channels.
While the exact launch date for System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster remains under wraps, fans won’t have to wait long for more information. Nightdive Studios plans to unveil the release date during their presentation at the Future Games Show: Spring Showcase 2025, scheduled for March 20th.
The remaster promises significant visual upgrades, including improved character models and manually redrawn textures based on the original artwork. Technical enhancements are also in the works, with a particular focus on improving the multiplayer experience. For purists, the option to play the game in its classic form will still be available.
