Take-Two CEO Addresses Potential PC Release of Grand Theft Auto VI

Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, has no immediate plans to release Grand Theft Auto VI simultaneously on PC and consoles. However, the company acknowledges the growing significance of the PC gaming market. This information comes from Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick in a recent interview with IGN.

When asked about the potential oversight of not releasing GTA VI on PC at launch, Zelnick explained, “Historically, Rockstar has started with one platform before expanding to others.” He emphasized that the PC market has become increasingly important, despite consoles previously dominating the gaming landscape. Zelnick noted that PC versions of multi-platform titles can now account for up to 40% of sales.

The exact release date for Grand Theft Auto VI remains undisclosed, with a tentative launch window set for fall 2025. Initially, the game will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. While no official announcement has been made regarding a PC version, previous installments in the franchise typically arrived on PC approximately one year after their console debuts.
