Thomas Frank’s Move to Tottenham Appears Imminent

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly on the verge of concluding an agreement with Brentford for the transfer of their head coach, Thomas Frank.

According to high-level sources involved in the discussions, the move is now described as “very close” to being agreed upon.

Spurs had identified the Danish manager as their top choice to take over following the departure of Ange Postecoglou.

Postecoglou was sacked just 16 days after leading the club to Europa League victory in Bilbao, ending a 17-year wait for a major trophy.

Frank is understood to have already given his assent to join Tottenham; the only remaining hurdle is for the two clubs to reach a financial agreement.

Brentford are believed to have a release clause for Frank in his contract, estimated to be around £10 million.

Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna is expected to be among the candidates Brentford will consider as a potential successor should Frank leave.

If Frank departs, it would bring an end to his tenure of nearly seven years with the Bees. During his time at Brentford, he achieved promotion to the Premier League and secured two top-ten finishes, including the most recent season.

However, SunSport understands that McKenna is currently content in his role at Ipswich and remains committed to his work there.

Meanwhile, Postecoglou has reportedly already received interest from other clubs since his sudden sacking by Spurs.

The former Celtic treble-winning manager is understood to have been contacted by teams in both England and continental Europe.

Despite this interest, Postecoglou, who is currently spending time with his family, is reportedly not rushing into a decision about his next managerial role.

Nevertheless, he has not ruled out the possibility of a quick return to management should a suitable opportunity present itself.
